Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including an Oscar for her film Piano. Her acting career began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. Acting has always been her love of life. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in the left ear. However, she did not let that stop her. The college she attended was drama before moving to Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dream. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. A supporting role was securing in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in many films, series and television films. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
